OUR PROGRAMS

Given our mission, we have developed several programs to support Venezuelan displaced people and asylum seekers. 

Many of our programs and resources are based in New York City; however, we at VIA can undoubtedly work with displaced people and asylum seekers across the US who are eager to benefit from our free programs.

VIA is entirely supported by volunteers!

Legal Orientation

This program provides information and guidance and connects migrants with resources of interest relating to migratory options for permanent legal residency in the US most effectively and smoothly.

Emotional Support and Wellbeing

Peer support group "Soporte Entre Pares." This program, a VIA's flagship, provides care and emotional support initiatives for the forced migrant community.

English classes

To integrate and increase opportunities in the United States, we offer English language classes from beginner to intermediate level and conversational sessions to advanced level.

To empower and generate information about what migrants need to adapt and thrive in New York City in the most effective and smoothest way possible.

We offer in-person and virtual events to promote integration, build community networks, and celebrate and share our traditions, even from afar.

building bridges

We constantly work closely with local nonprofits, institutions, and individuals through mutual collaboration, referral and information sharing, and identification of services they offer to meet the needs of our community.

Humanitarian assistance

In August 2021, we created «Dando una mano,» a quarterly charitable giving program that provides Food, Transportation, and Clothing aid to Venezuelan forced migrants in conditions of extreme vulnerability.
