Our Mission in Action
At VIA, we are committed to supporting displaced people and asylum seekers, particularly (but not limited) those affected by the crisis in Venezuela and the conflicts in other countries of the region. Our mission is to empower immigrants by providing critical resources, education, and support, helping them navigate the challenges of resettlement.
Programs
Explore Our Programs
Given our mission, we have developed several programs to offer assistance to displaced Venezuelans and asylum seekers from other countries. Many of our programs are based in New York City, but VIA is proud to extend its services nationwide. Whether you’re in New York or anywhere across the U.S., we are ready to help with our free, volunteer-supported programs.
Legal Orientation
Legal Orientation
This program provides information and guidance and connects migrants with resources of interest relating to migratory options for permanent legal residency in the US most effectively and smoothly.
Emotional Support And Wellbeing

The Peer Support Group, also known in Spanish as “Soporte Entre Pares,” is a VIA flagship program that provides care and emotional support initiatives for the forced migrant community.
English Classes
English Classes
To integrate and increase opportunities in the United States, we offer newly arrived migrants our English language classes from beginner to intermediate. We count on our renowned partners to refer eligible students to conversational sessions and intermediate to advanced-level classes.
Cultural And Welcome Program

We offer in-person and virtual events to promote integration, build community networks, and celebrate and share our traditions, even from afar.
Building Bridges
Building Bridges
We constantly work closely with local nonprofits, institutions, and individuals through mutual collaboration, referral information sharing, and identification of services they offer to meet the needs of our community.

Humanitarian Assistance
In August 2021, we created «Dando Una Mano» a quarterly charitable giving program that provides food, transportation, and clothing aid to migrants from different countries in conditions of extreme vulnerability.
